Avis aux fans de Hard Rock 80's et aux personnes désireuses de revisiter une partie de l'histoire du Métal des 80's ou de la découvrir !
BLACK ANGELS est un groupe de la Suisse allemande qui a vu le jour en 1979 et qui a sorti quatre albums et un single entre 1981 et 1985, ce de façon plus qu'invisible pour nous autres français il faut bien le dire...
Stefan de KARTHAGO a eu la très bonne idée de sortir un coffret limité à 500 exemplaires contenant ces quatre albums ainsi qu'un CD de nouveaux titres (tous composés depuis les dix dernières années par le chanteur Ron PHILLIPS. Chacun des quatre CDs peut être acheté à l'unité (limités à 500 exemplaires également).
Le groupe à ses débuts a toujours réalisé des titres entre Hard et Heavy, toujours mélodiques. On pourrait pour les 80's mettre BLACK ANGELS dans une famille BONFIRE (ou pour ceux qui ne connaissent pas BONFIRE, du SCORPIONS en plus Underground et plus direct).
Sur certains titres l'esprit Rock'n'Roll d'un MEAT LOAF est également présent.
Changes sera l'album du retour dans un style forcément plus mature, moins cliché et plus personnel. Du gros Hard Rock servit par une très bonne production, un chant entre Klaus MEINE et David COVERDALE et des compositions qui, ma foi, atteignent leur but à 80%.
Des titres comme Shine On, Changes, The Evil, Song Of Glory ou Coming Home vont à l'essentiel, sont bien rythmées et surtout savent retranscrire l'esprit des 80's. Ces titres ont ce petit quelque chose de Heavy Métal (SCORPIONS époque Black Out, DIO ou SAXON parfois) qui ne me déplait pas.
Car d'autres titres sont beaucoup plus mélodiques (Walking Away avec une partie chant féminins, Lovelights Shining, Water To The Well, Rock The City, Talking To Angels, Changes, I Don't Forget Dance ou Right Down The Road et son coté Loving You Sunday Morning de SCORPIONS, par exemple).
Les autres titres étant entre les deux.
En résumé Changes sera tout de même réservé aux fans de Hard Rock de qualité, avec des influences marquées de SCORPIONS, BONFIRE et un peu WHITESNAKE. Mais c'est de loin le meilleur album du groupe en restant objectif.
Le livret contient une longue interview et les paroles de tous les titres.

The group in its infancy has made securities between Hard and heavy, always melodic. That could be the 80's to BLACK ANGELS in a BONFIRE families (or for those who do not know BONFIREof SCORPIONS and more and more direct Underground). On some
titles Rock'n'Roll spirit of a MEAT LOAF is also present.
Changes will return the album in a style necessarily more mature, less cliché and more personal . From the Hard Rock used wholesale by a very good production, a song between Klaus MEINE and David COVERDALE and compositions that, my faith, reach their goal of 80%.

In summary Changes will still be for fans of quality Hard Rock with influences marked SCORPIONS, BONFIRE and WHITESNAKEa bit. But it is by far the best album of the remaining objective.
